Is it normal to steal petty things from your rommates like food, shampoo, etc.?

I'll pretty much constantly steal small things from my roommates. I've been avoiding buying my own body wash because I just use theirs in the shower. My roommate just made a ham last night, and since he wasn't home this morning, I took a slice and ate it with breakfast. I also steal slices of cheese pretty much daily to put on my sandwiches since there is so much of it in the fridge. However, they don't know I do this, and I would never tell them or admit it. I always replace the container I took something from the exact way I found it so as to not arouse suspicion. Is this normal? Do they do it to me, and I just don't notice?

I'd beat your ass, I wouldn't care if you're my roommate. If I have to work to buy things then so should you!

People are not as dumb as you seem to believe.

    They're onto you.

    Prepare for unintended consequences.

Maybe they've been stealing from you all along. I'm not sure about normal, but definitely not respectful.

I had a classmate like you. But she was worse. She used to go to other people's house and beg, borrow or steal. And she stole my cell phone too. -_-
What you are doing is shameful. People will not believe you, they may confront you, hate you, suspect you, and blame you for things you haven't done.

Dude I used to do that shit but it gets old. I got tired of playing ninja and only allowed to have one slice of ham so they don't notice. I actually started feeling bad so I moved on to other ppl's rooms. It makes it easier and less guilt feeling. But then I decided that this shit was madness and it sorta makes u have that lingering feeling of paranoia wondering whether they'll eventually notice or not. It's not very comfortable after a while. The reason that sucks most is not being able to have your fill. Find your own money and eat all ur own shit, it feels much more appreciative to them and mostly yourself.
Well it's pretty normal cuz my fat bitch frend is always in my fridge when he's not in my room after 5 mins. This problem is normal but it soon becomes a bad habit. Free yourself from the loop my friend, and eat your own ham! The feeling of champions; eating limitless with no worries. You can become that if you choose.

    • This is really what I wanted somebody to tell me. I was starting to wonder if it was even worth it, and if it was making me paranoid, because I'm always worried people are taking my food.

I used to actually MARK on my milk jugs where I stopped drinking so I could see if somebody took some. Isn't that ridiculous? I wouldn't even care, it's not that expensive.

It's just that like if I'm making a sandwich, and I have those shitty kraft slices or something but my roommate has REAL cheese in the fridge. Like 50 slices of those things. I just have to take one to use instead of one of mine. I'd never ASK them though because how stupid, would that sound? I'd sound like a cheapass.

      Anyway, thanks.

Respect on someone's property. If you wanted to use theirs you could ask for permission first. You don't want to be accuse thief, right?
