Is it normal to switch between uk english and american english?

I only write in American English if I'm speaking to my American friends ( typically on stuff like social media or things like Discord. ).

The only time I write in UK English is when I'm with my friends who I've seen in person and texting them.

I switch between the both when necessary.

Is it normal?

    I did that when I used to be in Facebook groups so I wouldn’t be bombarded with confused American replies, I’m proudly representing the abnormal brits on here though.

    It’s normal to alter your use of language depending on who you’re speaking to.
