Iin, to take so long to decide what to do with your life?

Growing up, I never really was able to make up my mind on what I wanted to do as a career.

I choose some careers, that at the time were unrealistic for me to do. Others were realistic, but due to reasons, couldn't be achieved.

I think kids are usually given some leeway on this, but I felt pressured even then. When I entered my teens, the pressure was there without really being there, if that makes any sense.

It wasn't until I was 16/17 the the pressuring really increased. I got pressured into pursuing something that I realised I didn't want to do as for a professional career.

It took me almost two years, starting from 18, to finally decide on what I wanted to major in college.

I've been told that it's normal for people around my age to not know what to do with their lives, but I feel like I took too long and I know that some of the people I know think the same thing. IIN?

A whole hell of a lot of people never figure out what they want to do. They just follow the family trade or get pushed into a routine, boring life of tedium.
The lucky ones might actually rebel in their early 30's, quit the 9 to 5 rat race, and begin a satisfying career, even if it means less money.
A very few of us are lucky enough to know what it is we want to do, almost from birth. If we have the drive to make it happen, then life can be pretty simple for those people.
Any or all of the above are normal and acceptable, there's certainly no rules for all to follow, to happiness.
    Good luck.

I'm nearly 30 and I still don't know what I want to do in life.

I think most people don't. Especially when it comes to careers. I think most just find something that's not bad and decent pay and just stick with it.

Take me for instance, I wanted to be and astronaut or an actor, but none of those things happened :P
