Is it normal to tell someone that you have to go, when you really don't?

When ever I'm texting or IM-ing someone, there comes a point where I don't want to talk anymore. So, I usually say "I've got to go..etc.", even though I really don't.

Is this normal?

My grandma used to answer the door with her coat on. If it was someone she liked, she said she had just come home. If it was someone she didn't like, she said she was just on her way out :o)

No...I just don't text back, but all my friends know this and we're all the same. None of us get offended, we reply to texts when we can.

  • I simply don't pick up the phone when I know the conversation will just end up being a waste of time.

  • I tell this to people that simply ask "hey" "how are you" and then stop talking. So I just say "g2g" to get rid of them and talk to a good friend that actually wants to talk properly
