Is it normal to tell your mum that you lost your virginity?

The other night I watched a documentary called “100 Vaginas” (which is worth a watch if you can find it) and when they came to the subject of virginity one woman said that as a teenager after she had sex for the first time she texted her mum to tell her.

I’d never heard of this level of honesty between mother and daughter before, women of is it normal did you do this?

    My daughter called me immediately from her dad's phone after the first time she had sex, but she didn't tell him.

    I asked her what it had been like and she said "Fantastic!" They were both virgins, she 13 and he 14.

    I'm a guy, but I never really flaunted the loss of my virginity. When I got a girlfriend in 10th grade and we lasted for almost 2.5 years, my parents definitely got the hint I was not a virgin anymore.

    Im a guy. I didn't tell either of my folks about losing my virginity, cant think of anyone I told, probably talked to my brother about it months after I had become sexually active. But as a grown adult after years of being at it and bringing dates home to meet the folks, i've definitely talked to my parents about sex, usually in a non explicit way, but topics of sex have come up and it never feels that weird. I guess when i think about it though,it's pretty damn rare and mostly its just talking about like yo don't get this girl pregnant you better make sure practicing safe sex and that kinda stuff.

    She still doesn't know! And she would probably kill me if she found out! Also, can you tell me more aboit 100 vagina's? Sounds hot! I often get off better to movies than porn, or at least have a better time.

    My mom and I are pretty close and tell each other a lot but I wouldn’t say something like that. My mom on the other hand tells me that type of personal stuff about herself not that I want to hear it, I stop her from telling me cause that’s weird and I don’t want to particularly think about it. I honestly think it’s a lil weird coming from either way, but maybe that’s just me. She’s sometimes even asked me when I’m dating someone if I slept with them. So I’m kinda the opposite here.

    Hell nah, my mom is super uncomfortable with discussing anything sexual. I always wondered if parents can tell when their adult children are still virgins though and what they think (pity? shame? relief?)
