Is it normal to think gay rape should be punished worse?

So for example, a man raping another man should be punished worse than if a woman rapes a man. I don't think the same would apply in the case of women however.

The reason is because I suspect it would be more traumatic or more of a shock to the system if a man was raped by another man vs raped by a woman. Thoughts?

    Rape is rape.

    • Yeah it is, but the real question is, is all rape created equal? The answer to this, I propse, is no.

Naw. Rape is equal. A butt. Vaginally. Even fucking someone's mouth without permission, is rape. And it's all fucked up. Cheers.

        • So if someone rapes your mouth it's just as bad as vaginally? I doubt even the law agrees with that lol.

I think it would matter to the person being assaulted...

            • Exactly. It would also matter what gender the person is and that's my damn point in the first place.

By separating rape cases by gender, it allows for one group of rape victims to feel less valued over the others.

Too many people change their mind after they've been fucked and that causes a problem with believability.

A lot would depend on who is being raped, bi and gay men are more promiscuous (I know I am) than straights. I wanted to try anal sex so the first guy was wanted and expected, his four friends were a surprise. When they had finished they put a tampon in so I could go home without it all running out!

I guess it depends how the girl raped him. If she raped him with a dildo its just as bad.

Well yeah I get why its still worse with a man. But for me being penetrated would be the worst. Something about receiving seems like feminizing

But your entire argument is about a "for you" situation. It's in your post body: "I suspect it would be more traumatic or more of a shock to the system if a man was raped by another man" You suspect. That doesn't necesarily mean you're correct.

            • No of course it doesn't mean I'm correct. It's this thing called an opinion, and you have some pretty wild ones from what I've heard as well

I think its doesnormal again. Hes the only asshole on here who baby responded yet. I think hes learning but he loves strapons yet refuses tovacknowlegs how gay that is same as this person. Getting penetrated is getting penetrated. For most men that's not a good thing

I think all rape is awful but i guess it depends how damaging/ much injuries are caused? Cause straight rape can still be more violent than gay rape, depending. Its all bad and penalties should be case by case basis.

I'm thinking from a pragmatic perspective on how to manage the variables.

Would a gay guy, who may not be as traumatized, carry the same sentence? Would a woman, who is a virgin, and really traumatized carry a larger sentence, etc, etc?

Once people stop being equal in the eyes of the law then it gets a bit dodgey, and easy to exploit.

I say this as a virgin, but... What I find hard to understand is calling it rape if two people are already (consensually) in bed naked together. Irrespective of gender.
But what would I know? If I had been sleeping next to the same man for 15 years and didn't want to have sex with him, I wouldn't be happy if he tried to force me.

    • NormalAdventure

...and if he tried to force you that would technically be rape. Sex without consent is rape. Doesn't matter if they are laying in bed together or not. Doesn't matter if they are married or not. Marital sex is not a human right. All rape is a crime.

That is the law. But if we were to look deeper than that, into all the shades of grey of human experience...?

There are no shades of grey when it comes to sex without consent or forcing yourself on another person.

      • Grunewald

I might be, if the definition of rape were as 'given' for me as it is for you. But I'm not treating its definition as a given. I'm treating it as a question.

There are certain kinds of 'public opinion' that I don't like to accept on blind faith. I want to know what I'm talking about. And as I've already said, I don't know what I'm talking about. So I am left with questions.

You know what? I'm tempted to keep going just to wind you up for kicks and giggles.

I've said my piece. My mind is open on the sticky issue of what can and can't constitute valid consent and it's staying that way until I've had any kind of sexual experience. Accuse me of what you will.

            Signed,
            The virgin girl.
