Is it normal to think it's stupid that there's still singular gender schools?

In the US and every other country there's still schools that educate and cater to only one gender. I thought that in this time in history, there would be no Boy or Girl schools and every school would be integrated. If that's the case then why aren't any schools White-Student, Black-Student, or Latino-Student only? Why? Because of Progress and the banishment of segregation in the US. So I think we should do away with 1-Gender only schools too.

This is really stupid. The reason they have separate school is because sex makes people stupid. Teenagers are already stupid and certainly not intelligent enough to know how to deal with hormones.

Girls cant get other females pregnant, and boys cant impregnate other boys. So instead of getting a bunch of pregnant 15 year olds that cant take care of the baby they have most of the kids finishing school and going to university with good grades. A black man can get a white female pregnant you idiot. Different race does not mean different species.

So instead of focusing on sex and having to deal with a baby you cant care for, or the daddy running out on you the only thing you focus on is school. Which is important to make kids focus on.

I believe a child could get a much better education in a single gender school. A good many who post on here seem to feel the social aspect of their high school years is grossly important to their lives, whereas in reality, they are in school to get an education, not date, be in one social group or not, or even learn about their sexuality. High school students are children, whether they believe it or not, and everything beyond an education in high school is not important enough in the totality of one's life to cause all the grief and heartache I see on IIN.

I went to an all girls school. I remember hearing there were studies that showed that single sex schools were better for girls but coed were better for boys. I have no idea if this is true.

Yeah I did briefly read up on this. Apparently this is particular true for females, they thrived in an environment where there were no males.

Statistically males are likely to disrupt classes thus affect the other students progress.

So what is your thoughts on segregated bathrooms in high schools? Should they too be abolished?

Anyway there is always some form of segregation, especially social economic segregation which is becoming the norm for an increasing polarised society in the US.

I went to an all-boys school, and I agree. No point in segregating by gender.

  • I think there is reason to separate genders, however not in the manner its is now.

I think we should separate the genders in education not because boys and girls should be separated but because I think we should change the way the schools teach to fit males and females appropriately in how they learn, for example how the education system is more so suited for women in how it operates now than guys given that a large percentage of your grade is determined on memory (in which women naturally have better memory), boys progress more when they're active and they have far more energy than girls while being confined to a desk, and so on.

So, in my opinion, yes, boys and girls should have gender-specific schools or classes, not to separate the genders but to apply different teaching methods to teach boys and girls in the ways that progress them the best.

I agree a lot with ItDuz idea. The genders overall seem to have completely different mind sets.

I think the entire education system in the US, needs to be revamped to catch up with technology. Not only the gender segregation. I think I would have done better in a single gender I learned more after I dropped out of highschool than what the teachers could teach me.
