It seems like only the super vanilla no-personality people Ive known want to have children. It's like the ultimate cop-out for people who have no interests to feel like they're accomplishing something with their lives.
I'm gettin old here, but vanilla is an ok flavor, my man. People have cunt nuggets for a variety of reasons, and sometimes being boring and conventional brings people happiness. There's nothing wrong with that as long as its genuine. You sound judgey & bitter, tbh. How about you start focusing on yourself & what you want instead of quietly disapproving of everyone else?
So what you're saying is that self-obsessed (or career-obsessed), adrenaline junkies and slavish followers of today's social media sensation rarely have children.
That sounds about right, since in those people's minds, the whole freaking universe revolves around them, and they want to keep it that way.
And it's a good thing, too, since people like that make crap parents.
Some people try to live their life by some traditional outline.
They do all those American dream type things -
College, career, marry, have kids, take kids to little league, drive an SUV, live in suburbs, put mother-in-law in nursing home, Drive 100 miles away once a month to have sex with a transgender or dominatrix, WAIT! no one is suppose to know what the husband does when out of town "on business".
OR. you can live as you see fit and not worry about how we are "suppose" to live.
I mostly agree with countless douche on this one, but at the same time I kind of get your drift. That being said, in any category of people, you have to treat people as individuals and also not think you can see through their whole complex journey of life and sum it all up in some sound byte statement about them.
When the whole world is counterculture, it's not counterculture anymore, it's just societal decay.
Unfortunately shitty kids are necessary for our species survival. Even our economies are dependent on them. But they truly are shitty.
I think my kids are pretty cool. Sure raising them isn't fun. But whose gonna wipe your ass?
Meh, I don't care for kids, but if other couples want them, I take no issue with it.
