Vile, stifled repression, or free uninhibited expression and celebration of life? You tell me is it normal to think secularism is superior?
It depends on what you consider "superior"
Morally Islam considers itself superior, obeying gods commands to the T, but then again, the Aztecs sacrificed children to the rain god and thought they where being "Moral" as well so that's all relative. ( Stoning's, honor killings, and the lack of action against FGM sure aren't moral in my book, but oh well they have their own)
In practical terms, I.e. living standards, wealth, health and safety, general freedom of speech and the press, were are certainly their superiors, no one can deny that, the best moments of the middle easts troubled histories was when they where under the rule of secular dictators, and if that's not disheartening, I don't know what is.
'Western Secularism'?
It's just secularism. Why attach a geographic label to the term?
There are plenty of religious people in 'The West', and plenty of secular people in 'The East', after all.
Anyway, yes it's normal to think your own ideology is superior to those vastly different from it.
I'd rather a secular society, but not one achieved through force. You can't bully people into losing their religious beliefs, and religion is a pretty common, recurring component of human society. I'd say secularism better enables a society to change and progress for the betterment of humanity, rather than being shackled to a lot of archaic, regressive traditions.
So you mean Capitalism + Secularism?
Seems odd to lump those two together, when what you seem to be critical of is Islam, not the economic traditions of The East.

No one is truly superior over anyone else. We all take a shit and wipe our ass at some point.
Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with some of the stuff they do, or how they run things but I don't feel as if we are superior to them; We are just more logical. They choose to be primitive.
The CIA should stop MTV from sending television feeds with too much sexual content to middle eastern countries. It riles up people making it easier to subvert them by demonizing "the Great Satan".
Selective drone strikes on extremists are also needed.
This is why it is essential that Muslim clerics know that they will be eliminated for teaching hate.
