Is it normal to turn off the lights in the bathroom when people are in it?

Sometimes when I leave a public bathroom that is occupied I turn off the light switch so that people can't see what their doing and piss on themselves. Sometimes someone will be in the stall taking a dump too and I will hear them yelling obsenities as I exit.

    Only to family and close personal friends. Although I haven't done it for a long time. Scary - maybe I finally became an adult. :(
