Is it normal to use the handicapped public stall (when you're not handicapped)?
I don't know if this is true for other countries, but in the U.S., public restrooms usually have one large stall meant for handicapped people along with the regular sized (which is pretty cramped in my opinion) stalls. For me, if the restroom is empty, then every once in a while I will just use the handicapped stall because it just feels more comfortable to do my business in a more spacious area. No, I'm not claustrophobic. I often use the regular sized stalls too (if I even use the public restroom at all).
Anyways, the reason why I wonder if this is normal is because in fourth grade, I moved to Arizona and at the school I went to, nobody used the stall and you were deemed "retarded" by your peers if you did. Even when the restroom was full and there was a line, the handicapped stall was basically taboo. However, when I moved to Colorado, I sometimes see people using the handicapped stall especially when the restroom is crowded.
So, my question is: Where you live, is it normal for non-handicapped people to use the handicapped restroom stall?
