I was homeless for a year or so. Most of it was spent going from place to place Unless I got sick. Hated being forced to stay in one place for more than a few days Taking a backpack and walking across the country. That sort of thing. I liked it and was able to make money on the road
Yeah, everyone wants to live on the streets! What kind of question is this?
The fact that you call it ‘homebumming’ tells me you don’t really know what you’d be getting into.
There’s a difference between being a vagabond, couch surfing, and true homelessness. A lot of addicts on the street live their life that way because they have very little choice, or they choose it. You’re actively choosing it, and almost romanticizing it. There’s nothing romantic about living on the streets in squalor or a tent or with no real shelter.
Those people got there because they couldn’t afford a living because of some problems in their life. Keeping them from a good paying job or adequate housing. Do you have those problems?
Homebumming is what some people called it during the year I was on the road, so i'm not sure where that came from. Lots of the people I met were forced vagabonds while others weren't. I left because my house wasn't safe and I needed to leave. I grabbed a backpack and few necessities and started walking.
Don't get me wrong. Parts of it sucked but I ended up falling in love with the lifestyle. Ended up staying on the road longer than I needed to just to keep at it
theres some cool freight train hopper vidoes on youtube
id do that kinda shit if i wasnt tied down with obligations
I get pangs of wanting to make a bushcraft shelter in the woods and live in it for a few days. Nothing seems more fulfilling than building your own shelter and camping with only a shovel, knife/saw, and basic food and water supplies.
Camping is just being homeless in the woods.
