Snakes, what kinda snakes? You're in Australia, right? Ya'll have a lot of dangerous creatures.

The monster under the bed isn’t dangerous in Australia he’s drunk and passed out most of the time

    • I was homeless for a year or so. Most of it was spent going from place to place Unless I got sick. Hated being forced to stay in one place for more than a few days Taking a backpack and walking across the country. That sort of thing. I liked it and was able to make money on the road

You don't have to be homeless. No one wants to be homeless. Wanting to backpack and travel makes you a traveler. Homeless implys forced into a situation where you are unable to keep or suddenly lose one's lodging

How did you make money on the road?

        • Lots of looking for change on the ground and playing my guitar Also any small jobs that people offered me like mowing lawns and general shit. A few vagabonds I met would work a few months in the year and just save up their checks

Yeah, everyone wants to live on the streets! What kind of question is this?

    • Not the street. Mostly in the woods witha tarp and sleeping bag. Moving from town to town everyday

I want to live in a big, old, mansion on a hill. I probably wouldn't mind ghosts if they were friendly to me, and my animals, but scared away any perspective home invaders, or other bad people that might come around.

The fact that you call it ‘homebumming’ tells me you don’t really know what you’d be getting into.

There’s a difference between being a vagabond, couch surfing, and true homelessness. A lot of addicts on the street live their life that way because they have very little choice, or they choose it. You’re actively choosing it, and almost romanticizing it. There’s nothing romantic about living on the streets in squalor or a tent or with no real shelter.

Those people got there because they couldn’t afford a living because of some problems in their life. Keeping them from a good paying job or adequate housing. Do you have those problems?

    • Homebumming is what some people called it during the year I was on the road, so i'm not sure where that came from. Lots of the people I met were forced vagabonds while others weren't. I left because my house wasn't safe and I needed to leave. I grabbed a backpack and few necessities and started walking.

Don't get me wrong. Parts of it sucked but I ended up falling in love with the lifestyle. Ended up staying on the road longer than I needed to just to keep at it

I get pangs of wanting to make a bushcraft shelter in the woods and live in it for a few days. Nothing seems more fulfilling than building your own shelter and camping with only a shovel, knife/saw, and basic food and water supplies.

Camping is just being homeless in the woods.
