Is it normal to want cavities?

I am male and 18. Since I was about 12 I have been less diligent about brushing my teeth. The majority of mornings and nights I do brush but plenty of times I don't. I have never had a cavity, only last time the dentist told me I had some minor decay on one of my teeth. One of the reasons I don't brush all the time is because I'm lazy but the other reason is because I really want to experience a dental filling. Is this normal?
