Is it normal to want to tell everyone now

Ironically after all this sex on period talk. Found out my fiance is pregnant yesterday. Did a digital test and it says 2-3 weeks. Which depending on last period could be anywhere up to 5 weeks.

Its the weekend so we can't get any further tests done. But the main question is at what point would you tell family. And then friends. I know most people like to wait 12 weeks to tell anyone so they don't have to deal with miscarriage news aswell. If that happens.

She has told all her family instantly. I dont feel the same. I want to wait the 12 weeks.
When would you tell people? Or if you've got kids when did you tell people?

I’d go with telling immediate family and telling them not to say anything. If a miscarriage does happen, you won’t want it to be a shock to your family.

I had a miscarriage after telling everyone I was knocked up. Fucking terrible.

    • Immediate family only. 12 weeks everyone?... sounds like a plan.

    Congratulations :)

I get the whole "waiting until you're sure it's probably safe" thing, but I think if I were pregnant and lost it in the first trimester, I'd want the support of friends and family, not to hide it like some shameful secret.

    • If I didnt tell them now. And then had a miscarriage. I'd still tell them of the pregnancy but had a miscarriage.

Fair enough. I think that would be harder, but you know you and your fiancee better than I do. Good luck with it.

No kidding. Young men think it is SOOO important to get laid but then when the consequence hits, suddenly they realize the ultimate cost.

I would tell my family. If I were a parent I would rather know that my daughter was pregnant and had a miscarriage than thinking she had never gotten pregnant when she did.

I think the twelve weeks is a good idea because of the chance of losing it before then; even in the modern day there's a pretty bis risk before that time. Congratulations though, dude, it should probably still be alright, especially if your misses is young; good luck, dude!

How to tell them is also a question.

Here would be the best way - say you want to play a matching game. You name an object and they say where it should be kept to avoid problems.

Like you say "gun" and they say "Safe".
You say "money" and they say "bank"
You say "Dingling" and they say "drawers".

Then you say, "Yeah, when Mr. Wanky comes out to play, bad things happen". They will figure it out.

Have fun regretting this till it grows older. I could never be a parent all i see are negatives without any positives. So many the negatives wipe out the double negative rule

Yea in math, a negative plus a negative makes a positive.
