It just sucks that she is not ok. She is very sarcastic and flippant about the whole cancer thing and wont let anyone feel sorry for her. and soon she wont be here I try to be as upbeat as possible but she notices i am sad I cant fake with her no one can. I dont want her to thinks she is a bother cuz she is not try to do other stuff to make her laugh like get movies like the hangover bridesmaid hot tub time machine 40 year old virgin ron burgundy ted.. she laughs at all the dirty parts

    If she is getting towards end stage then she will know that you are worried & expect you to be at least a little upset.
    She may not want you to worry but she knows it's to be expected.

    If you being upset seems to scare or upset her then try to hold it together & leave the room for a bit when you can't.

    I've been where you are & it's fucking tough! You're doing a great thing...

    I cared for my mother for eight years before she passed. She was quite old and died at 87, which is a good long life. She had dementia and yet fiercely defended her independence. I can tell you that being a care taker for someone who is dying is more rewarding towards the end than over the course. Later on she will find her own way to express her gratitude. When she is gone you will be glad that you did your part to ease her journey. You will have a greater appreciation for family as a source of strength and a greater knowledge of compassion and love. The things you take away from this will serve you well in life.
