Is it normal we have three temp agencys and they never find people work?

In the entire town we only have three, and its really spread out town we have three job agencies. The way a job agency works is they make money off of how many people they send out to find work. However they regularly do not find work for anyone and this company has several complaints about this issue. I kind of not sure how they are open when they find so few people work in the entire town. I starting to wonder if they might be a front company for something more shady since this makes no real sense to me.

    How do you know they aren't finding jobs for anyone? There's no way you could know that. Just because you and a few other undesireables haven't been placed doesn't mean nobody has.

      since there has been several complaints and bad reviews from people signing up for them. So they have a bit of a reputation.

        That by itself doesn't mean they aren't finding work for anyone.

        -people are more likely to leave negative reviews when they have a bad experience vs positive reviews when they have a good experience

        -people like to blame anyone but themselves when they fail

        -some people are difficult or impossible to employ

          I was employed with agencies in other cities right away but not with this company some how. I not sure what the problem is but I called them back every month for a year and they still have not found me anything. I also have a spotless record so it makes no sense they wont find me anything.

            Well, maybe your references aren't saying good things about you? It's very possible even if you think otherwise. The fact is, unless you hear it for yourself you have NO idea what they are saying about you. Since you seem to be having a lot of trouble getting a job, it would be wise to do some investigating into this just so you know if this is something hindering you and also if they are saying negative things, you can improve those things for your next job.

            Maybe they don't have anything you are qualified for. Some temp agencies are more specialized than others, some cater to more exclusive placements, positions requiring higher levels of education/experience.

            Maybe they are choosing to pass you over because of your personality, references, appearance, etc?

            Maybe it's an issue with lack of transportation or some other similar barrier.

              Your logic still does not apply, why would the other agencies find me work and not this one? Clearly its not my references or employability. So assuming most of the candidates are simply impossible to employ really makes no senses.

              I have trouble getting a job with the agencies in my city. Generally any other agency has found me work but they are not IN MY CITY. Which if a number of people are being treated as poorly as I have been clearly this agency is not doing a very good job finding people employment.

              Your assumptions are based on the false belief that a company can not be fraudulent or simply bad at what they do.

              You also are assuming all these people lack transportation. If this is the agency for the city, they should be finding jobs in this city. They are not advertised as finding jobs for other cities and its much easier getting in the door with a agency vs going in person.

              Also no there is nothing hindering me. If there is anything hindering me its nothing I can really change. So there is no purpose in trying to change it.

    It sounds a little odd but in England my company employ about 15 temps all from same agency we give them 6months work experience some we keep on the others we let go and take more on
