So much tax money goes to the wrong places in this country that people getting assistance money shouldnt bea blip on anyones radar
Because they have been taught, since early childhood, that you don't have to be responsible for your own actions and lifestyle. They believe that they are entitled to it. Ever since childhood they got trophies just for participating. They never really had to accomplish anything. Nothing is free. It costs to give away anything and someone has to pay for it. The purpose of a government is to protect you from harm and to provide a general welfare, not personal welfare. That is why the government doesn't owe you shit. You have no right to free health care.
I guess if you want poor people to die when they get sick it is not needed. Sending middle class people into debt when they get sickand will never be able to recover from is probably not good social policy.
Why do people think it isn't? It's a need, not a want, and it benefits society as a whole to keep people healthy.
You must be in the United States, richest country that still lacks universal healthcare for citizens.
Forget the humanistic reasons, it is economically better for your country to take care of citizens. Better health of citizens yields incredible benefits for an entire country.
Poor health increases disease among a population. That's expensive to manage in a population that's in a first world country. You see, universal health care allows people healthcare access to screen early and prevent much worse outcomes. You see, in the U.S., sick people go to an emergency room for care that could have been taken care of far earlier if that person had annual physical exams with a general practice physician.
Universal healthcare isn't all that easy to devise, but what exists in multiple countries is better than having no access to healthcare at all. I like it when people can still keep their private healthcare coverage if they choose to do so. Anecdotal, but I think that private healthcare you pay yourself tends to be better quality than a public system. But we still need to progress forward by creating universal healthcare for everybody. That's just WISE for a country to do this.
Because the fucktards in charge think they should get everyone's girl scout cookies and blame the poor who have no cookies and the middle class dudes and dudettes are like no These are my damn girl scout cookies!
