Iint i don't like being given advice, even if it's good advice?

I am a bit of a contrary, stubborn person, and while I *do* listen when someone tells me that I should probably do something, I often have this innate desire to do the exact opposite thing, even if I'd hate it. For example, if a friend tells me that I probably shouldn't go to a party because it won't really be my scene, sometimes I'd go just to not do what they've told me (I guess? half the time I don't even know why I do it). It's like I play devil's advocate with every aspect of my life. Is this normal?

You are not alone, there are others like you, and they are all just awful people to deal with. Thankfully, they make up for it by punishing themselves by doing stupid shit they don't want to do just to be different.

By banging one's head against a wall continuously, one will most often only end up with a headache.

I get this. A part of my brain just doesn't want me to do anything that I'm "supposed" to do. It wants to do the opposite just to spite ..whoever.
Who do they think they are, I'll store my petrol anywhere I want!
