Iint i walk faster than anyone i know?

Whenever I walk with someone anywhere I always go like twice as fast as them, I have to slow myself down to stay alongside them and I feel awkward and it's more tiring that way. I often just walk ahead of people if we stop talking.

maybe you have long legs, it's not fair to shorter people because they have to work harder to keep up with you

I walk fast, too. But, I try to be considerate of who I'm walking with, especially women in high heels or someone who is really short or less mobile. I wouldn't just walk away from people walking slower, unless we had to move out to do something like catch a train/plane.

We had a really short lunch period at my school, so I always felt like my friends were taking forever to get downtown to the restaurants.

I read that this fast walking thing has to do with a certain personality type. With a 36" inseam, my stride is really long already, so it's really annoying to short people when I do this because they have to almost run to keep up with me.

I think you have answered your own question. If you walk faster than anyone else it isn't normal, because all the normal people are walking slower, right?
    Normal; the usual, average, typical.

Normal can also mean within the normal set of human behaviour. I think walking quickly is still normal. Rolling along the ground would be abnormal XD

If normal only meant "average" then it would be abnormal to be normal, since almost no one is precisely average in any way.
