Im terrified that america will someday become like canada?

I grew up in Canada and only recently escaped, i hated it. Condos everywhere, high taxes on everything, overpriced housing even in the most hideous neighborhoods, and an incredibly high per captia rate of "punk" tattooed women that made me want to gouge my eyes. even thinking about it right now makes me shake. I currently live in America, and most things that gave me stress in Canada are gone. But instead have been replaced with fears... Because life is so good, i'm terrified that one day the good times will end. I'm worried that our housing bubble will one day over inflate like Canada, i'm worried that the cost of living will one day become unbearable, i'm worried that
an average Americans ability to have a big family that doesn't live on food stamps will become a thing of the past.

I'm a pretty liberal guy, but I'm concerned that if the democrats stay in office for a few more terms they will eventually ruin the american dream for young Americans, and replace it with a condo-filled-culture lacking-price-gouging-bore- filled-disaster, that our neighbors up north have to deal with.
