Inadvertently laughing at a homeless because of a funny thought

So I was walking down the sidewalk and thought about something funny so I smiled and laughed a little without realizing that I was looking straight at a homeless with a sign that said something about AIDS/HIV and it kind of just stared at me with vacant eyes and I feel bad about it.

      he/she... i don't know what it was. It had long hair and dirt on its face.
