Injured myself sneezing

The other day I felt the urge to sneeze and when I actually went to sneeze I coughed at the same time out of no where. Ive never done this. It felt like a firecracker went off in my throat. It hurt so bad. My wife thought I was being dramatic with my cough/sneeze sound but then I hacked up a tiny amount of blood from my throat and spit it out.

The next day my throat was very sore. The day after that my nose was running and throat sore. The next day I have developed quite the cough. Is it possible I injured my throat sneezing and it caused a sinus infection?
