Inn that i try to be ambidextrous?

I'm right-handed by try to do things left-handed. Like this morning, I tried to scoop, measure and mix my protein shake left-handed. It's awkward, but I think it's good practice. I know that's a bit of a lame example, but you probably get the point.

My brother was born left-handed and our Dad tried to make him be right-handed. As a result, he still writes left-handed, but is almost completely ambidextrous and its a real advantage for him.

It's good to do stuff like that to keep your brain flexible and healthy.

I was on a co-ed softball team and right-handed guys had to bat left-handed and vice versa. It seemed impossible at first, but by the end of the season I was a switch-hitter (the baseball kind!!)

I'm left handed and I bat right handed and kick a ball right footed... but if I have to kick a person, I kick left footed.

I'm sure one can learn to use both hands somewhat equally, but true ambidexterity is 100% genetic.
My father could toss a scalpel in the air, catch it with the other hand and continue the incision without blinking. Always could use both hands, from birth; zero preference. I, on the other hand, cannot even count on the fingers of my left hand. Missed that genetic gift.

Both my parents are left handed as well as my older sister. There are many things I do with my left hand just as comfortably as i can with my right. I do try to keep that ability strong and challenge myself. Although I get the impression that most people dont do that baded on my friend's reaction. A lot of people are complete clutzs with their non dominant side.
