i go through a pounda peppercorns a year easy
i fuckin love grindin my own pepper
I can, but I am a massive food wanker.
I do also think it depends what you're doing with it. If you're seasoning your finished meal with it then I think pretty much anyone can taste the difference. If you're adding it to a bolognese or something then it isn't as easy to tell.
Actually I’d go for the disposable ones that you don’t have to fill up and you know the pepper is always fresh. Pepper mills always seem to get broken. My wife spent good money on 1 made out of walnut and my grandson twisted it the wrong way and broke the gears,
I love my pepper mill! Make the investment in a good one you can keep all your life.
With a peppermill you can adjust the size of the pepper granules. Big chucks, small granules, and anything in-between. The size does seem to effect the taste, at least to me anyway. There are inexpensive peppermills out there for literally a couple bucks new.
