I'm not afraid of it, but it's pretty normal to be scared of lightening. Go through the history, mankind had had been afraid of it since antiquity.
I always found rain storms kinda calming for the most part. There was one day when I woke up during a thunderstorm and I walked up to the back door of the house, and lightning struck not even 20 feet from the door. It scared the shit out of me and had me shook for a while.
Not scared of it, but I fear it in the sense that I respect it and don't mess with it or take silly risks with it. A bit like God, really.
I got a house with a porch just so I can watch storms. It’s my favorite.
I live in tornado valley so yes and no. If theres lightening outside I'm paranoid that there might be a tornado that pops up. The lighting doesnt bother me too much. You can often tell by the lightening if theres gonna be a tornado because it will look like a strobe light outside and even if its daylight it will be almost pitch black dark.
I am because it hit a flagpole that my grandparents had near a pond and burned the hell out of it. Imagine if someone were near it.
I find it embarrassing that I grew up conditioned to be more terrified by thunder than lightening, considering that fact that the latter is in fact what's dangerous. I mean, it's like seeing Captain America holding his ground against the attacks of Thanos' Infinity Blade and then after, seeing him giving a whimper of fear at the sound of Thanos' fart.
I mean, it’s dangerous so I use caution. Normal thing to fear as long as it’s not obsessive.
