Is anyone in the east moving to the west??

I live in the east, and I want to run to the west... is anyone doing the same? I need a new start. I have a boyfriend that I need to leave, and if I dont go far, he will stalk me. I have always wanted to live where it's warm. I want to model, and go to school. Im in my early 20s. (female) Is anyone going to arizona, california, nevada, or even colorado. and they live in the NE.

Don't try California. People are leaving this state in droves. Wish I was one of them. The state that this state is in is pitiful. We are broke. And they tax the heck out of you. Too many regulations. Can't even use your fireplace because the Air Quality Nazi Board will fine you.

I wouldn't be caught dead in Cali, but I am thinking about moving to New Mexico. There's some definite appeal there.

Move across the country to escape your boyfriend? Damn! Plus, sounds like your running from yourself. When your comfortable right where you are, then you've hot the stability to move on. And, wherever you go, there you are!!!

UGH do you have any idea how many wannabe actors/actresses/models/singers are over here? Please, if you want to move here be my guest, but don't just do it for the fame.

I live in Santa Fe, NM and it is the most beautiful place on earth. You have pristine mountains to the north, east and west, and a 60-mile view to the south across a vast plain that ends at another mountain range next to Albuquerque. It's 7000 feet above sea level, there is no humidity at all, and it's sunny 3/4 of the year. You can see the Milky Way at night, and every single star.

I moved from FL to WA; one corner to the next. The people here are certainly interesting, but I miss my thunderstorms and warm beaches.

  • Eh, I have never been out West before, but heard it was really nice. The climate and scenery are nice, from what I heard. But I agree with Jan, there are problems, just like there are here in the East. So you really have to weigh the odds and see what's best. Good luck!

  • Don't move to Idaho, unless you like driving on slick roads and freezing your ass off in the winter. The summers are great, but after a couple of months of winter I am ready to head south.

Do some research before you make your move. I live in the west, and you'll want to do your homework in terms of cost of living, job availability, weather conditions, crime statistics, rental costs, entertainment availability, etc., if you haven't already. People are attracted to the area where I live because of relatively good job prospects and fairly good weather, but on the negative side, the summers are blistering hot and the air quality is getting worse each year. Just beware you're not running from one set of problems into a whole new set of others.
