Is clomipramine effective?

I have been to a psychiatric assessment and they prescribed me clomipramine.

I suffer from depression since an early age and my anxiety has increased a lot during the last two years. I also have trouble socialising.

Has anyone taken it as well? How does it work?

    I take an SSRI called Escitalopram for panic/disorder, depression, and social phobias. It works quite well but is in another class of drugs.

      The one you mentioned seems to treat the same symptoms mine does.

      I just started taking it.

        My only complaint is that it causes a decrease in my sex drive. But oddly enough I am more able to strike up conversations with women I otherwise am unable to because I think are too beautiful and way out of my league.

      I took it for a while too. But I'll follow the doctor's orders.

      This Clomipramine is making me sleepy, hope it works out in a couple of weeks.

    I was on it for pain control, worked good, but it gradually kept raising my heart rate to between 130-140 bpm and they took me of it.
