Is communism the superior system?

Communism is an economic system that is based on community and equality for all, where capitalism is an economic system based upon the rich and selfishness. Communism may never be true in practice (mostly due to past mistakes), but in theory it is the lesser of all evils that are economi systems.

Nope. It's a convenient screen for authoritarians to hide behind, but it doesn't produce anything permanent. Markets will exist as long as humans do; you can twist and bend them, but you can't eliminate them.

I think we should learn certain aspects from communism.

Capitalism only paved way for "The New Prosperity" of planned obsolescence. It called for products with limited lifespans on the basis of profit. This can be evidently seen in the Centennial Light that was produced before the Phoebus Cartel started and is atleast 113 years old (still counting). The Phoebus Cartel standardised the light bulb to 1,000 hours inorder to cut off costs and increase profit. Companies started investing research on how to decrease a product's lifespan, rather than increase it, leading to consumer culture that produced more waste and pollution than ever.

Learning from the communist times, resources were scarce so they hired scientists and manufacturers to use as little as possible whilst yielding the highest possible product lifespan, as they could not afford otherwise. Today in past Soviet states, you can still see products in use from communist times, because they made sure a refrigerator had to last a minimum of 25 years.

At the same time, environments in Communist countries themselves deteriorated just because there was no real democratic accountability for individuals in charge of managing said environs.

Where healthy market competition exists, there's no reason for planned obsolescence to also do so. Perhaps some measure of regulation could sort out the monopoly holding everything up...

I wish it were true but if you do genuinely believe that this is so, you are sorely mistaken about how our system works.

To answer your question though, no I don't think Communism is superior. I think the ideology behind it is sound, but the problem is that it doesn't give anybody any incentive to aim higher or go further. You see evidence of this in communist countries where it nurtured a general feeling of apathy.

How many times is this question going to be posted? Communism did't work in Russia, why do you think it will work anywhere else.

the major element of communism-as an ideal- is centralization of all economic and social power within the state,to be blunt-absolute power.
the rationale being that a single political party made up of the best minds (supposedly)is more efficient than an open pluralistic democracy wherein the politicians care only about getting elected for a short term.
a huge assumption by communists is that the vast major have the same desires and needs that can be churned out in large scale mass production, somehow without allowing those who can accomplish this feat to keep the wealth they've created.
firstly-humans aren't cloned duplicates. secondly it's stupid to think a person with the imagination, skills and resourcefulness is going to take the risks and make the exceptional effort to produce anything more.

If men can be trusted it would be the best way to go! Unfortunately men can't be trusted at least history shows the hunger for powered. Hitler, kings, presidents, leaders in general given the chance will kill for money, power and glory. At the expense of common people's life, look at china and Cuba?

I agree with communism because it leads the proletariat to equal rights and way of life.

Capitalism seems to be creating a disaster right now. But communism might be even worse.

We need to come up with a better system. Right now, all we can do is choose the best out of a bunch of bad systems.

Nope. If you work harder and are smarter you deserve every dime you can make.

Inherited money and unfair disadvantages to certain groups is a different story.

It is a rather difficult answer as the fundamental flaw with the system is that it involved a highly centralised chain of command that was easily manipulated for ones greed.

I think the world will always be a struggle between those with everything and those with almost nothing, who those people are changes, the countries they're in changes, but it's always the same, destroy, take, rebuild, die off

I once heard that in order for communism to work, we need a sub billion population. I guess that's where the whole over population thing comes from (just shoot yourself first!).
But the nature of the human will just not allow this to happen. Mankind is greedy, selfish, gluttonous. The people at the top would always be corrupt.
