Is feeling anxious because of the automatic voice in phones normal?

When I was like 4 years old i had a nightmare which had me marked for life, I was using this nokia 3310 and the wallpaper switched to some demon, couldnt drop the phone and the voice you get when someone doesnt answer your call keeps talking and talking. Ever since I feel really anxious when i hear that robotic operator voice. Has someone experienced this or feel this way? I looked it up everywhere and nobody experienced this.

    Simple, dump the mobile phone.

And turn down the sound on scary movies.

I can see how that voice would creep you out. They try to make it realistic but it makes it worse.

well I had one similar experience when were kids, we used to call 777 to try to speak to God and 666 for the devil, offcourse it never worked until one day the 666 line picked up and a woman answered and asked our names and what we wanted we left the phone and run, later on I mastered courage and tried calling that line but for several days no answer came until I forgot about it altogether,no one believed me but I wasnt the only one who heard it,till this day I dont know what really happened, couldve been a service number or something don't really care but I can kinda understand people being traumatized by stuff like this

You can change the settings on your own phone for the GPS robot voice- like, you can make it have a bad British or australian accent, or you can buy an app that changes it to a character's voice. My brother had Wallace from Wallace & Gromit as his GPS voice. Maybe that will help?

& yeah, it's normal to get the heebie jeebies about stuff that seriously freaked you out as a kid. Its unfortunate, but that creepy robot voice is kinda a part of life nowadays, so you're gonna have to try & find a way to deal with the anxiety it causes you.

Hello, mainly it's when I make a phone call and I get the response telling that the phone can't be reached. That cannot be changed, sadly.
And yeah, I don't know why but I had lots of nightmares and probably night terrors because some were extremely terrifying and realistic, waking up at the verge of tears. I just hope that soon I can get over this.
Looked it up everywhere and nobody else experienced that, and it makes me feel worse since I most likely have nothing I can do
I told some friends and they made fun of it and told me I am always saying stupid shit so that didn't help much either

Awww it's ok. A lot of people have completely irrational anxieties. Yours is pretty specific because it's something that traumatized you as a child, so other people might not share this anxiety or understand it, but most people are scared of at least one or two harmless things.

If this is really causing you serious fear & discomfort, there's a treatment for phobias called "exposure therapy," basically it's where you get slowly exposed (in steps) to your phobia in a controlled & comfortable, safe setting, so you can desensitize yourself over time. It has a pretty good success rate & It's something s therapist can help you with, if seeing one is an option for you.
Unfortunately, that stupid automated phone robot voice is being used more & more, so it might do you some good to find a way to manage the panic you feel when you hear it.

& please don't be ashamed or embrassed! We all have irrational fears. I know I do.

Using a nokia when you were 4 years old?
When I was that age, the recording on a phone would say, "If you are using a rotary dialer..."

But yeah that voice would be enough to scare kids.

Here is something my sister and I were freaked out by when we were little, this guys voice - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSdSn9J2J8U

Before you dig that up though. he has this deep slurring voice that isn't exactly comforting. Imagine if Rob Zombie were singing ragtime
