its good if you enjoy it. i made the mistake of not choosing what i enjoyed for gcse, i chose computer science instead of art and its so boring even if i get good grades, so if you really like art, go choose it even if you're not the best, you wont regret it

Honey, been there, done that. You’re going to look back on secondary school and wish you took subjects YOU enjoyed. If art is what you love, do it. It requires a lot of time and effort, but if that’s okay with you - go for it ;) GCSE options WILL NOT define your future. Just chill

No, stick to subjects like the sciences, English literature or geography.

I think most schools make important "core" subjects like the Sciences, Maths and English compulsory, then let you choose which secondary ones you want. That's what my school did.

@OP If you're good at art and/or enjoy it then go for it. GCSEs don't even begin to define a future career path, just get good grades in whatever you do and more options will open up later.

Also you're not there yet, but for when you are, don't buy into the hard sell your school will give you that you HAVE to go to university to be successful. Schools do that because they want to get as many kids off to university to make themselves look good. It's predatory. University is not for everyone and it runs up huge debts. Depending on what career path you want to take, university can be right, but you might consider doing an apprenticeship and learning a trade instead, going into business that way. I'm saying this because I needed someone to tell teenage me this.
