Is having multiple accounts on is it normal permitted?

I've had someone impersonate me. Several users I know have also been impersonated. There's one psychopath who makes several accounts per day. Even before the one comment limit for new people, she'd make one comment (usually to say she was leaving forever...I don't think she understands what that means...) then create a new account. She's now had a new comment limit of zero per day applied to her and only her.

And I'm sure by tomorrow I'll have hatemail from her twenty new accounts. I wonder if I can forfeit my gold...

On the flipside, I know a few people have made second accounts just for fun/clever trolling. They're awesome.

Is it normal that I miss the old trolls of yore?

I've had three people make spoof versions of my account. It was funny.

I don't think there's much they can do about it. They can ban someones IP address but that can be changed too.

It is permitted. I know because I use my brothers account from time to time as my second account when he's not using it. He doesn't mind.

From what I just skimmed under the "help" section of IIN, I did not see anything that expressly states that you couldn't have multiple accounts (but, as aforementioned, I was skimming). However, under one of the policies of IIN, I did read this (specifically, #6 on the list):

"By using this site, users agree not to do any of the following:

1.Upload, post, email or otherwise transmit any content that is illegal.
2.Invade another User’s privacy. This includes revealing another User’s password, phone number, address or any other personally identifiable information. <a href="http://isitnormal.com" rel="nofollow">isitnormal.com</a> discourages users from revealing their personal information to anyone they don’t know (remember, Google finds everything).
3.Create member names, or post or send messages that denigrate, threaten, abuse or harm others on the basis of race, culture, religion or sexual orientation.

5.Transmit or solicit extremely sexually explicit messages, text or photographs.
6.Impersonate another user or a member of the <a href="http://isitnormal.com" rel="nofollow">isitnormal.com</a> staff.

11.Transmit anything that violates any patent, trademark, copyright or other proprietary rights of another party.
12. Upload, post, email, fax or otherwise transmit material that contains software viruses or any other code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software, hardware or equipment.
13. Interfere with the site’s servers or networks, or disobey any requirements, procedures, policies or regulations of networks connected to <a href="http://isitnormal.com" rel="nofollow">isitnormal.com</a>
14.Intentionally or unintentionally violate any applicable local, state, national or international law."

Only you will know that you have multiple accounts. Just use a bogus e_mail address when you register.

I think I've read somewhere that it IS permitted.
