Is inline skating still considered gay?

I enjoy inline skating but my skates broke years ago and I never bought new ones because shortly after they broke roller blading became "gay".

I decided that I'm going to try to buy a pair of skates at Dick's Sporting Goods tomorrow because you know what? I like skating dammit and I don't care if it's "gay". It's fun and I want the exercise.

But for real, IS inline skating still gay? I just want to know.

PS: Dick's is the only place here that sells quality sporting goods so I have to go there even though it's called "Dick's" and that might seem extra gay.

Also: Do you skate? Do people hassle you for it?

    I never thought it was gay. That'd be a shame if having that passion made people automatically assume something like that. Maybe you could go skating with a girlfriend or something. Either they'll know your straight (because you're obviously with a girl) or they'll assume you're the 'gay best friend' XD

    Either way, if you are having fun it shouldn't really matter. Hypothetically, in a similar scenario, if bicycling was considered 'gay,' that would never dissuade me from riding. I love riding bicycles and always have. If people want to assume things because of that then fuck 'em :)

    if you can do some handrails and 720's and some flips its cool but if not ... still gay. buy a skateboard ;)

    How can skating be gay? Being gay is when you are attracted to the same sex or happy. So your question is stupid.

    No this was never and will never be considered gay. Ice skating was considered gay though. I think just the fact they have men dressed in shimmering, estravegent outfits. Inline is what they use for Xtreme sports and hockey. They have side by side four wheels and those I think were considered gay at one time. There is a difference between those and inlines though.

    I'm gay and i think its gay. I'll never do it. I shouldn't feel this way. In-lines started as a way for hockey players to practice without an ice rink. (not gay)
    It's just so roller disco to me
