I'm a very avid bookworm but looking through history it seems like there's been a lot of atrocities inspired by books. Some I can name off the top of my head are:
The Bible
The Qu'ran
The Communist Manifesto
On The Origin of Species
Mein Kampf
The Catcher in the Rye
The God Delusion

What are some positive influences books have had on the world?

    In a world of rising stupidity promoted by degenerate "pop culture" and other factors, reading is something MORE people should be doing. The positive influences of books are far, far, far too numerous to go into here.

      Haven't read mein kampf, have read communist manifesto but forever ago. Both have inspired some terrible ideologies.
