Is it considered illegal for a minor to draw porn?

Explain why or why not, please. I've been confused about this for some time and need some answers. I can't find much info on it (just laws pertaining to adults).

    I'd think it would fall under 'possession' laws.

    The act of drawing it wouldn't be a crime, but the acts of possessing it and distributing it could be, depending.

        I just said it 'could be'. I don't know. You have to be 18 to buy porn so it's possible. I was just trying to help the OP find his answer and "possession" would be where to look for the law on it since drawing is not a crime.

        And it depends on what's depicted. Cartoons/drawings of 'obscene' child pornography are illegal, for instance. Distributing the images, whatever they depict, could be illegal depending on depiction and age of recipient.

        Photo and video is an art too, just because you took the picture or made the video yourself doesn't make it legal to possess, depending on the content!

          It's not allowed to sell porn to people under 18 years of age, but it's not illegal for a person under 18 to possess porn.

          Also, drawings or cartoons showing erotic scenes with childs involved are considered as "sexual images of fictional characters", which are only illegal in Canada, South Africa, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the Philippines. In Japan and Russia you can (afaik) even possess video material or photographs of child pornography without it being illegal, even if real childs are involved.

            Dude, I didn't say it WAS illegal for a minor to possess porn, I said it 'could be'....don't you get that? I was implying he should check possession laws, OK? I mean, since you have to be 18 to buy it's POSSIBLE and reasonable to question whether or not minors can possess porn. Sort of like how minors can't possess alcohol. Follow? How many times do I have to say it before you get it?

            And, read this re the child porn art, you jackass. It's 18 USC ยง 1466A. Now fuck off.

    As far as I know, there is no age limit for drawing porn. That's absolutely okay at any age.

    When I was 13/14 years old I used my artistic talent to draw pictures of Archie screwing Betty and Veronica, as wells as lots of various pictures of erections. At the time, I wasn't concerned about whether or not it was considered illegal - my only concern was my parents finding out. Thank goodness they never did.
