Is it gay to target a research paper towards females than young males?

Hey guys, I'm a 22 year old straight male who is studying Computer Science (Final Year student).

I've got a exam in Human Computer-Interaction coming up in a few days and I have to talk about different research articles and how I would improve the methods of research. One article relates to wearable and how the technologies improve physical activity. I was thinking of talking about how I would improve this by targeting the study towards the girls but I'm worried about what my friends would think when I would tell them, as part of my exam answer. I just feel that it would be extremely gay, considering that I'm segmenting this away from males. Is this normal?

Okay, so we know your age, sex, and major. We know the theme of the project, but you didn't go into detail of what you're doing. What makes your project seem gay? Because it being focused on females doesn't sound weird, hetero men think about women about 99.99% of the time.

I don't it's gay. Your fear of it being gay is not only gay in and of itself, chauvinistic as well. Are you sure you aren't little latent, or perhaps your friends are quite latent themselves.

Of course I'm not gay at all. Hell, another person made a comment saying it's suspicious if anything when I was only just asking and saying. I just hide that guys comment. If anything it's maybe more sexist then anything but whatever. I'm 100% homophobic and would never ever do a guy. This was only my big paranoia speaking.

Being homophobic isn't a good thing to which one ought to aspire. Yeah, whoever made the comment about it being kinda gay or whatever is a massive turd blossom, so good on you for blocking that jackass.

Unfortunately, it is clear to me that you are extremely gay already. Computer science is known as the gayest major, with 95% of students identifying as lgbt. Any interest in physical activities is also a huge indicator of gayness. The only option for you at this time is to drop out of school entirely.

Gay - no; autistic - a bit. What makes the sex unique to your research?

Without understanding the premise of your project, whoa. Let's break it down now. Sticking strictly to your question the answer is no. The reason though is because you're working on a false premise. It sounds like you have an idea, buried under a fear of being judged. If your friends are judgemental, the answer is probably that you will be, even if they don't use those words specifically. You have to recognize though that this is mostly just you second guessing yourself or having predictable unsupportive friends. As long as your science is sound it literally doesn't matter what they think and if you do anything meaningful with it women will probably thank you.
