Is it just me or are game designers getting greedy

I noticed that games are getting lazy and uncreative, it started out one day when I was playing a game on xbox one and I got bored of it without even finishing. I think infamous might have spoiled me.
is this normal?

    They always been greedy.
    Like when arcades were still big, the arcade version of a game was impossible to beat yet the home version was easy and you got bored faster.

    OR the arcade game would allow continues until the last level, so basically you kept feeding the machine quarters for nothing.

    There are countless other ways they are/have been greedy.

    I dunno, I've always just gotten straight up bored with video games from the get go to tell you the God's honest truth for me.
