Is it normal?: i have to buy new appliances almost every two years.

Im always buying something new cause the old ones seem to go out too soon. In the past 10 years, I have had 6 washing machines, 3 microwaves, 3 ovens, 15 refrigerators, 30 coffeemakers, 20 TVs, 2 computers, 3 Satellite boxes, and 5 dryers. Also, I never buy a new one until the old one breaks. Do most people have to buy appliances this often?

You might have frequent voltage drops, call an electrician/company

There's a rare condition when people can't use electronics, because they stop working around them. It's kinda rare and I think this is what you have. If you look up bizarre conditions you might be able to find it that way.

  • in the old days, the old stuff just became ugly after a few years. now, the stuff is junk in a few years.

I buy old cars, cause a brand new car will be done for before we are done paying for it.

Well a lot of things made these days aren't meant to last. Its ridiculous, really. That's why I like old stuff. Built well, built to last. Even cars. I doubt youl see any 2011 vehicles on the road in a few years. Its like they're disposable. Sad sad sad

I watched an interesting documentary about how things are "designed for the dump" nowadays, the manufactures want their products to be good enough that yours will break down in a few years, but you'll still be happy enough with your old one that you'll buy a new one. What a disposable society we live in... *sigh*

I've been driving Hondas for years, never had any problems. I drove my '88 Accord into the ground, I had it until 2004 when I upgraded to the newer Accord and bought myself a new Civic in 2007 to use as a secondary car. No problems whatsoever, I've never had anything wrong with the engine, transmission, or even minor things like the breaklights or the horn.

  • Unless those things break down, try not buying too many appliances. They're meant to last.

      • Here's an idea that'll save you money in the long run. Trying buy the ones that are meant to last and won't break. The stores have clerks who are willing to tend to your needs. In the end you'll never have to spend money on new appliances.

  • 30 coffeemakers? 20 Tvs? Over 10 years seems a bit excessive.

Something wrong with the voltage level of your electricity there maybe. You should have the electric company or electrician check, tell them your record of purchases
