Although it may make them look like an idiot for doing so, you'd look like a douche for pointing it out.
I always correct my little brother, but he's only ten so I can get away without seeming too bad. But I also do it when people are talking online. I get away with it though because everyone knows I want to be an English teacher so they just let me carry on lol.
I can't help it, I do!
I teach so I'm lucky to get away with it but my mother absolutely cracks up with me. She feels I am being superior and insulting her. I'm not, I'm just trying to help her but she deliberately refuses to learn from her mistakes!
It's not normal to correct people all the time, but I would say it is normal to want to! My biggest struggle is wanted to correct pronunciation and people can get very offended by that. So I try not to do it...but occasionally it gets the better of me lol
Did you type this so horribly in the hopes that someone would correct it?
That's annoying. It only bothers me when people writing spell like, "oMg gess wat just hapened lyk u wont blieve it!!!!"
If it's little things when people talk or write I ignore it. No need to get all huffy.
People generally don't like it. Unless people ask me to proofread, I tend not to point it out.
