Is it normal a good day turned so bad

It was a bright and sunny day and I decided to go for a drive in my truck with my german sheppard in the back. (his name is Football because as a pup he used to have a toy football he loved so much) I was driving across a pretty tall bridge behind a truck carrying a four wheeler that didnt look so secure. Right when I said "that doesnt look to safe" the four wheeler fell off the truck. I litterally swerved into the other lane to dodge it and quickly had to get back into my lane to avoid oncoming traffic. My truck slammed into the side of the bridge and my poor german sheppard flew out of the back of the truck and over the side of the bridge. I slammed on the brakes and jumped out of my truck and saw poor Football laying on the rocks below, twitching. I almost jumped off the bridge to get him. Long story short; hes in the hospital and in critical condion. I've been crying every night for the past week. I just need some comfort, I'm single and live in the country and I don't have much luck with the ladies. I don't want to lose poor Football because he's all I have.

Please just help me. And don't say something like "get a cat and name it Soccer" because I'll probably kill myself.

I am sorry about what happened to your dog Football. It's okay to grieve for a while, it sounds like you two were pretty close. Please don't harm yourself though.

    • Im happy to say that football is recovering. The other day i went to see him and i took his favorite toy football with me. He was lying down. When i walked over to him i held the football up to his nose. He sniffed it and instead of taking it he licked my hand and started wagging his tail. Thanks for the support everyone. Theres no need to get a cat now.

Next time get a bird as a pet, they tend to fly better.

in Australia it is illegal to carry a dog unrestrained in the back of a truck.

Man, I'm feeling your pain. Unfortunately it is relatively normal. Life can be so unfair sometimes. That's just the way it is. The accident wasn't your fault and whatever happens to your dog he knows you love him. I would just be with your dog as much as you can and hope for the best. I wish you and Football the best.

It is normal for a good day to go bad.
It is also normal to feel the way you do.
    Very sorry for Football.

Hmm that's unfortunate, would make a great scene in a movie though!

Hope football puckers his ass up

If you're really old enough to be driving a truck (doubtful), you're too old to be crying every night over a dog. Another thing, if that damn dog is all you've got, then you ain't got much! You need to get your head out of that dog's ass, get out and meet people and get a fucking life! A good place to start would be to take a course in English grammar so that the next thing you post won't be so full of grammatical errors and misspellings that people have to read it three times to figure out what you're trying to say. One other thing, how many eggs did Football LAY while he was LAYING on the rocks? The correct word is LYING, you idiot!

  • It's normal. Tragedies are usually unexpected. I can't help but say I wouldn't have taken my dog out if the only option was for it to sit in the hatchback... but what's done is done.
