Is it normal after work to just keep driving anyplace?

Here goes.
I plug in music. The car is cozy. I'm finally utterly, blissfully alone. Ordinarily, I drive home, sometimes, I take an extensive detour. I just keep driving, lost in my music, daydreaming, soaking in the scenic sunset. I have visited two different cities nearby me. I've taken myself to the beach a few hours away and made it back in time for work the next day. Usually, I just drive for scenic landscapes + music chill out. I, often cruise through mountains because its beautiful. It's kind of ridiculous. However, in my car, I'm happily alone for awhile. Tuesday and Thursday sprouts this desire. No idea why it doesn't happen on Friday? I cart my camera gear along for this reason. Sunsets and scenery are too tempting. Usually, that's it. Its a landscape vision that captures my eye. I'm lost from the real world at that point.

I don't see anything abnormal or ridiculous about this. Except that it's very refreshing to read amidst the usual stories. And that it's a contagious post and now I strongly feel like going on a drive too, except I hath no mountains or good scenery around. Booo.

I'm intrigued by the Tue/Thu pattern too. Was there something you used to do those two days? Maybe something pleasant, or something hectic?

Beautiful! I used to do a lot of weekends driving "just because".
I'm a car enthusiast so part of it was driving the car I was currently driving (which was almost always my hobby as well, being constantly fiddled with & improved) & part of it was simply driving in beautiful areas. Forests, mountains, winding coastal roads...

Haven't been in a long time. I've only just stepped back into a car I'm excited to drive & now I think I would actually enjoy those drives more with the company of someone special

You do know that these cunts are taking about leisurely puttering around on countryside roads, not taking turns sideways and doing wicked burnouts in a chop shop skyline, right?

You take the stolen engine, then you take your other car, then you put it in it.

      You put it in it.

        Really?

        Fuck this shit then...

        & that's correct.
That's exactly how you do it.
        You put it in it

Hey, as long as you're getting enough sleep and can afford the gas; I'm envious.

This is great. I'm going to try this. Some days I just hike lifts with not too close friends and go places with distant family just for the new, refreshing, adventurous feeling it brings. Thanks for the idea!
