Is it normal all of my male animals are typically such babies?

Any male animal I have owned was such a big baby compared to my female animals. The females, while gentle, are always very independent and strong willed. The males of course did have their natural aggressive side but that only surfaced when the need arose. Otherwise they are just the biggest mama's boys ever!! Always wanting so much attention, and they tended to retain a LOT of their baby traits (habits from when they were dependent on their Mother). The males would do such sweet and cute things.

The animals I observed this in were chickens, cats, dogs, cows, horses and goats. I had a rooster who appeared to have died from a broken heart! He had a best chicken friend, Pookie, who got hit by a car and died and the next day he was dead but had no illness or injury. Just suddenly dead in his coop.

IIN? Has this been your experience too?

    I actually have had this experience, I don't know if it just a coincidence or an actual fact but I have seen it.

    I think that in the wild, in some mammals the mother being brave increases its chances of having kids and protecting them whereas for the males they don't need to be brave because they only need to have sex, so it pays for them to be cautious. So I think they evolved that way. In primates like monkeys and humans, raising children is a cooperative effort so I don't think it happened with us.

      Exactly.

      Male animals -> sexy studs.
      Male humans -> fathers and warriors.

    That's how my male cats are. Very affectionate, loving...they love to cuddle up in my lap and are completely content with some petting. My female cats, while they enjoy petting too, are generally more independent throughout the day.

    Yeah, that's usually how my pets are.
    That's kind of why I prefer males, most of my male pets (dogs not included) were very affectionate and easy-going whilst the females are very independent and can't be bothered to do cuddles :O

    However, I've never raised a female animal, so maybe they'd be more affectionate if I raised them to be.
