Xbox VS Girlfriend, I know I know, the age old battle. Ive been a gamer my entire life but at the same time ive never had problems getting wemen either. This is the first time ive had a woman move in and up untill this point my gaming hasnt ever been a problem, drinking sometimes but gaming never... It stated when she broke her lap top by throwin a fit about me playin... See My brother in law introduced me to Call of Duty and hell the game is just bad ass. See my girl has been cool for the most part about me playin but resently she starts goin at my neck everytime I start playing. Sje will make like hate filled threats and threaten to leave and honestly I kinda dont give a shit, hell im not sure if I play because shes a damn bore or if shes getting boring becaus xbox is the shit. See shes not the worst girlfriend out there but she not exactly the most intresting.. Is it normal that id give up my girl for my Xbox?

    It sounds like you need to set up priorities.

    If this is the first time you've lived with a woman you have to accept that you cannot live like a single bachelor anymore. That means sometimes you have to put the game down and associate with her.

    If you cannot do this then you're not ready for a real relationship.

    Your woman of course also needs to learn some self control. Breaking stuff just because you don't get your way is childish. She needs to grow up.

    So you're both wrong really. Work together.

    of course videogames are more fun than girlfriends, girlfriends tend to do the same thing over and over again but videogames (unless you are playing COD) tend to change and do different things and be awesome. plus, women can give birth, deal with decades of abuse/unfairness, and deal with hormones but as soon as you mention anal all of a sudden, "it hurts too much". videogames never say no.

    My boyfriend is playing call of duty right now. On the tv in front of our bed. It's 930 in the morning on my one day off of work... Just woke up to loud shooting noises >:(
    Also I'm not boring at all I was sleeping and I don't think this is fair. He shud go to another room or something but wen I get mad about it he starts talking o me like his mom and he's a kid. He's 30 but he always acts like he's 12and I'm his mommy when video games or helping around the house is involved. I'm 25 and I don't need a 30 year old son. Let me sleep I pay half the rent here ! Ahh !

      Clearly you are not meant to be together. You probobly do not want to babysit an overgrown twelve year old and he seems to only care about video-games. I would say you two should break up since neither of you is getting what you want. Let him be on his system 24/7 and find a real man. He can do nothing but play games and masturbate instead of having a girl friend. You both sound like you irritate each other too much.

        Can you believe I wrote that comment a year and 9 months ago! That guy is long gone. He was just like a 12 year old and also a liar. I DO have a real man now, Hes actually 3 years younger then me but he's so mature- with his career, managing his own finances, pro women's rights - he's really liberal - he doesn't even have time for video games. When we met I asked him and he said he used to really like them but now he only plays them when he hangs out with his little bro from the "big brother big sister" thing he does.     She broke her laptop because you play games XD. Believe me mane if its not xbox she'll just get pissed about something else. She needs to get herself a habit. I got rid of my PS3 because I just stopped liking videogames. Best advice if she's not willing to play xbox with you at least a little bit then drop that trick. Lol

    Im a girl gamer and I gave my BF up for xbox. He was so naggish whenever I wanted to play. I tried to play with him, but he would just get upset every time I kicked his ass. I had to make a decision. I love black ops. He just had to go. He wasn't bad either, but black ops just happened to be a lot better. LOL

    I'm sure when you find the right girl, yo will completely forget about games (at least for a while LOL). Maybe this girl just isn't for you dude.

    You need to talk to her, sugarcube. From the sounds of your story she's angry at you because of the game, but you need to figure out why. If you want to make it work, talk to her about it when you're both calm.

    Although, you don't sound to happy with your relationship. Try stepping back and try to remember why you first started dating her, and if the feeling is still there. If it's not, you should consider breaking up.

    you shouldnt be dating if you are a gamer. sorry but i would never date a guy like you. i dont want to say youre a nerd but you need to do something else than play video games all the time. having a girl and getting laid is more important, you dont want to die alone do you?

    and second, you say drinking has been a problem before? so you drink and play video games all the time? maybe you have issues that you should deal with.

    and like some other guy said above, sort out your priorities. get help with your gaming problem because even though it doesnt seem like it now, having a gf and getting married are far more important, and if you wait until its too late you will never have either of those things and regret having played video games your whole life.

          The truth of the matter is that she is probably a crazy bitch. There is nothing wrong with playing video games IN MODERATION. Plenty of people, including myself, enjoy playing video games and also have other more important priorities that they put ahead of them such as work, wife, kids, school, etc. (your earlier comment saying gamers shouldn't date is incredibly offensive by the way).

          Considering all of that, I do see the other side a little bit too, that this guy probably plays video games way to much and so that is definitely a contributor in why his relationship is suffering, however, I think that your opinions on the matter are very biased.

          P.S. I have a 4.0 grade point average so far and I have been playing video games since I was very little.

            what i meant by 'gamer' is someone who makes video games his life...those kinds of guys shouldnt date, and the guy who made this story obviously doesnt WANT to either.
            almost every guy i know plays sometimes, theres nothing wrong with that at all. but i wouldnt call them a 'gamer'

            and i think maybe his gf is doing those crazy things because she reallly wants to get his attention?...but im not sticking up for her either, shes not right...shes stupid for staying with a guy chooses video games over her

    well let start by saying if BLACK OPS is cool then ur girl, she must suck, cause that is the worst call of duty game i've ever played.

    so if black ops is honestly coolest then her then, break it of, cause in like a week MW3 is out and it'll only get worse.

    And if not then listen to angel's Advice, its the same as how i feel.
