Is it normal "couple" "few" "several" "bunch" etc

I use words like these (couple, few, several, etc) interchangeably even when the actual quantity might be slightly different like 2,3,4,5...

Sometimes ppl correct me and say "A FEW IS THREE!" or "A COUPLE MEANS TWO!" Almost like they are angry at me

I know what the words mean i just refer to everything in small amounts the same way

This kind of thing really annoys me. If you are talking about something collectively, use the correct terms, child.

I refer to that as "generic" speaking, and I do that a lot because I'm not a detail oriented person, so I'm not as specific with my terminology as most people. I just don't see things in detail. I see the bigger picture.
