Is it normal, deoderant-phobic?

I'm not phobic of deoderant in the sense I won't use it... I HAVE to use it every morning/night! I am just sickened by the thought of having wet deoderant touch my clothes! It's so chronic I have to put it on a good half hour before putting on my shirt for the day... up until that I'll wear a singlet or just my bra (because the wet deo doesn't touch the fabric).

I've been LATE for schooling because of it! It's the thought alone of having something wet and sticky on your clothes and skin... it's not the fact it could stain either! Just that DISGUSTING feel!

  • Sounds like you're a little OCD. But it's cool and yeah they have hard deodorants that are like scented rocks

  • What about using a deodorant salt-stick? You dip it in running water for a second, then rub it on your skin. You're still getting a little wet, but it's just water and it dries pretty quickly. The salty residue that's left behind is undetectable and destroys the bacteria that cause odor without needing heavy perfumes to cover up any smell.

  • And the smell you have by not wearing any is a billion times worse than having a wet deodorant touch your skin.

        • Oh I've been planning it for a few months now, you just didn't know it yet. I might rush to the honeymoon and keep you in my basement for a while. Do you mind?

          • You'll have to tell me what you've been planning, you're making my mind run wild. I don't mind the rush to the honeymoon but you'll only keep me in your basement for a while? That's a bummer.

Just a random question, are you the one who's been emailing me lately? The things this woman has been telling me, I'm sure you'd like to hear if it's not you.

            • I don't have enough space in my basement for the rest of the people I plan on kidnapping, I mean marrying. Well, I'm sorry to disappoint you but it's not me. Sounds interesting though. Who's the lucky girl?

This is just a plan-ahead grooming thing. Leave enough time or find something else to do while it dries. It's not a phobia because it's actually healthy and better for your clothes if you let it dry. Just put on your makeup or dry your hair or shave your legs or something while it dries. That's what most people do. Sometimes I forget it until I'm dressed, so I put it on by reaching under my clothes. That might drive you crazy, but it actually keeps it off my clothes because I don't have to pull my shirt on and get it on my sweater.

Get a Thai crystal from a health food store, they work great!

For me I'm afraid it'll stain my shirt. It's an anxiety thing for me. I understand where you're coming from.
