I find some people love to exaggerate life in internet.Post luxury vacation,hotels,cars,yacht,etc...and find later that they're backpacking...
Facebook became all about showing off. All the selfies really put me off. I no longer use it
It's normal and it's also ridiculous. When I see a person constantly exaggerate their life on Facebook, I start to wonder if they have anything constructive going on with their lives.
I think a lot of people do this because they see everyone else highlighting the best parts of their lives, so they feel inferior and try harder to appear the same or one up people. Rarely you will see someone post negative things that are going on in their lives...some post drama but for the most part people like putting up a happy front.
sounds like you're unhappy with your life but still care what others think, maby it's a coping mechanism, it is though a very temparory solution to a bigger problem.
