Is it normal for a 25 y/o guy to cry over skinned knees

Me and my buds were playing touch football yesterday, and my best friend tripped and fell and skinned his knees on hard dirt and gravel, but he welled up and started sobbing, and sat out the rest of the game. He's my best friend and I'd never make fun of him, but it was kinda strange to see this buff 25 year old guy crying from a couple scrapes on his knees that most 11 year olds could take. Some of the other guys were making comments about him being a wimp and a sissy. What do you guys think? Is this normal?

It's normal. Skinning a knee, especially on a hard surface, hurts. Everyone deals with pain differently.

There might've been something else going on in his head. Sometimes people let stress and such build up, and the smallest thing can set them off.

Lol as a kid I fell on the sliding door runner and cut open my knee to the bone.. I was more annoyed that I was missing the party so I don't remember it hurting. These days falling would bring tears to my eyes lol

Kids have weird responses to pain. When I was a kid my friend snapped his shinbone and it pierced through his skin and was protruding through the front of his leg. He was only upset about the injury because it meant we couldn't finish what we were doing.

Same for me, I guess. I broke both bones in my forearm and my forearm and hand were just dangling loose like I had another elbow joint halfway down the forearm. The nurse said to my parents that if an adult did it, it would be a surgical matter because there's no way the bone would knit back together. For me, they just put a pot on and sent me away. I don't remember feeling any pain at any point.

This is so true! When i was a kid I stepped in glass and almost lost half my foot, I only cried because my shoe snapped in half.. still sad about it to this day :c

Wow. We're amazing as kids, aren't we? I had a thing too (nowhere near as bad as yours) where a rusty nail went into my foot. The weirdest thing is, I don't remember anyone getting it out. It might still be there.

We should hold a memorial service for your shoe, nonetheless. One minute's silence on IIN. That must have been a pretty bad injury to do that to your shoe. Do you have a scar?

Aauch that sounds painful too o: Haha it seems unlikely its still in there but anythings possible xD

Yes, actually a memorial service sounds like a respectful thing, because it did save my foot! Without it I would have definitely been half-footless. It's a shame he had to die in the process tho, I liked that purple shoe..

I do also still have a scar due to the incident, it goes around the side of my foot in the middle, top to bottom. I lost feeling in there too, which shows even more how brave that little purple shoe was.

Wow! That shoe of yours was a hero. I think a memorial service might be selling it short. It deserves some kind of military honour. That sounds like such a nasty injury, it really could have saved your foot.

As for my nail, I don't think it's still in there but I heard about an old man who needed an X-ray and when they did the X-ray, they spotted a bullet in his groin. He'd been shot in WWII and hadn't even noticed, and the bullet had then been with him all his life.

Yes, he really deserves that :c thank you for understanding how brave he was!
Oh wow, that is so weird o: you would think he felt the bullet when he moved.. The nail might still be in your foot too, but I think it depends on how big it is/was. If it was a small one the chance could be its still actually in there :o quite a scary thought!
