Is it normal for a 36 year old teacher to like a 24 year old student?

As above.

The teacher in question is tall, handsome, muscular and nice.

Whereas the student is just plain, fat but smart.

If the teacher looks deep into the student's eyes and keep smiling at her when the conversation wasn't even meant to be funny, does it mean he likes her?

It's also normal to develop a crush on a teacher. But just because a teacher smiles at you doesn't mean he's sexually attracted to you.

Stop being so hard on yourself (self-image/self-esteem wise). It sounds as though he may like you.

If the 24 year old student is in 8th grade, then I'd drop him (her).

Of course, it's normal..dunno if it's right but it's normal lol. I agree with the first comment; it's not enough to go by as he could just be one of those really nice professors or one who gets wrapped up and doesn't really realize the staring.

My geography teacher married one of her former students.

    She's now 38 and he's 22.

Dunno if it's normal, but hey, you can't stop love.

I really don't think that means he likes you. Some professors are just like that when you're talking to them. It kind of creeps me out actually that some do like to maintain eye contact throughout the whole conversation and are always smiling. He's just being nice I bet...

If you are twenty four you should be old enough to know really. If just ask him, it happens very often that a teacher takes special interest in a student, and sometimes even more!

Are you the student? He might like you, but I think you have to find more signs then that. I mean, he could just be one of those types that doesn't realize he's staring, but he is.
