Is it normal for a 9 year old to draw slenderman

I was babysitting these three kids (9, 10, 13) and the little girl drew a picture of slenderman and said "it will get you" IIN

  • She's 9.

Kids do many things without the slightest inkling of what it is they're doing.

Slender man is a character from a game. Maybe she does think it will get you. I guess you believe in the boogeyman right? That is just how little kids are. Probably plays to many games and watches to many movies. If I told you a evil possessed doll named chucky is going to stab you in your sleep would you run? Are you really so shocked little kids believe in monsters?

Are you then suggesting this little girl is mentally unstable for having an imagination with a darker side?(psst, it's normal)

            • No, I'm not suggesting anything. There is no hidden meaning.

I refuse to google slenderman. It's been mentioned on this site a lot recently and I have no idea what/who it is and I choose to remain in the dark.

Its a character from a video game. Basically the character runs around in the dark until it sees a stick figure. When you see the stick figure you die. End of game. So people make fake pictures and threads and talk about it all over the internet. So now its one big internet joke.

Actually, it was an internet rumour, or maybe a "meme" which was made into a game.

He's not from a video game, and he's not a stick figure. DannyElf has no idea what he's talking about.

Its a monster that originated from a site based around creepypasta which are basically short stories designed to scare/horrify the reader.
Then some dudes made him into a video game character with a low budget game they made then he became an internet hit.

It's not that bad. I can send you to a picture of a cute slendy if you want. No tricks, I promise.

      It's a pluushie: http://loollool1.deviantart.com/art/Slender-Man-Plushie-3-322796321

I love all this Slenderman stuff :) You know he's not real, right? Like, originally, Slenderman came fro

Yes, my 9 year old cousin draws him. Oh, and Slendy comes from a myth THEN it was put into a computer game. Later on they made more versions for it. One version being multiplayer with Slender Man's dog instead of Slendy himself. The story behing Slendy is that he mulested children. In the origonal game you can tell that your a small feminine child by the way the charecter pants after you command her to run.(For some strange reason she can only run about 4 feet before she gets tired)

As a little kid, I loved drawing all kinds of freaky things I saw on TV and in my favourite games. I played a scary game about dinosaurs, I got into dinosaurs and started drawing and researching. I got into zombies, I've drawn some zombies before...

Also, as a kid, I used to make things dramatic, like that "It will get you" thingy, sometimes I was actually trying to shock adults, but growing up in an Irish and Italian family, no one cared. I actually said a lot of creepy things before the age of 3 which I don't even remember, but other people tell me stories about stuff I said xD

Well, it's a bit shocking that a kid that young would know who Slenderman is, but I don't think that there's anything necessarily BAD about it... you know, as long as the kids don't believe that he's real and become completely terrified of him.

I believe it's fine. So long as she didn't draw him out of an idealistic joy, then don't worry about the blood on the carpet. It's probably just for decoration...

He's literally a more detailed stick figure, I'm sure I drew slenderman before I knew who he was. Besides slenderman is cool I say let the child draw whatever she wants.

Did you draw the tentacles, though? I don't think it counts unless you draw the tentacles.

You're right. Sadly it never occurred to me to add tentacles to my stick figures.
