Is it normal for a cat to pant like a dog¿

But only after playing, not all the time. Just recently I got Jett(cat's name) a toy that's like a fishing pole. After we play for a good 15-20 mins he will pant as a dog, but unlike the other cats I've seen he doesn't even show the slightest bit of feeling tired at any point besides the panting at the end. Is it normal for a cat to be like this? He's fairly young so I don't believe it's with anything age like.

I was always told that if a cat pants it's either extremely nervous or in pain >.>

Given the information you said though, maybe your cat's just special haha :P

If you're really concerned though, I'd take him to the vet

somewhat - if he does it for too long, it could be a symptom of a heart or breathing problem, but if it's just for a little while after playing, and he's still young, i wouldn't worry too much. my cat did this when he was a kitten after extended play time.

yes that is normal. people and horses are the only animals that cool down by sweating. most other animals cool down by panting.
