Is it normal for a co worker at a new job to treat me like crap?

I recently started a new job and from day one this one girl (a co-worker)has been rude mean and condescending to me.I don't know this person and the day i started she was mean and hateful trying to be bossy and making me feel uncomfortable .She isn't my boss either just an equal. I'm like wtf....this girl seems bipolar or schitzophrenic to me.Should I be fearful or talk to management .I don't want to be perceived in a bad light but I dread going to work now!!!!!

    Seems there's one of those kind of people in almost every workplace. What's worked for me is to mostly ignore them, or call them out on their behaviour.

      I swear it really seems like you can count on having at least one asshole wherever you work for sure.It's like the devil hand picks these bitches out and sets them smack dab in the middle of your world so it will be fucked up.......

    Just be up front with her and tell her to knock that shit off. Gotta stand up to bullies. Otherwise you'll continue to hate work

    I seriously doubt that talking to management will ingratiate you to anybody (even management) or do any good. This ain't the school yard.
    You are not 'equal' to her, she definitely has seniority and if you think you are more valuable to the company than she is, then go ahead and make waves. Otherwise, bide your time and ignore this pest, just as I do with the pests on here.

        And here she is, ladies and gentlemen. Perhaps not the brightest bulb on the string, but certainly the most obedient! I don't read her crap anymore either, but that screen name always shows up right on time (Oz time that is).
